Brome & Oakley Community Recycling Centre: The former Brome & Oakley Community Recycling Centre on Brome Industrial Estateis currently closed but it is hoped that it may re-open later this year (check the village website, local papers and village magazine for updates). In the meantime, residents wishing to dispose of household waste can take it to the free recycling centre at Stowmarket (Old Bury Road, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 1JQ), which is open 9am-4pm, Mon-Sat and 10am-4pm on Sun; or to the one at Morningthorpe (north of Long Stratton; turn east off the A140 along the B1527 towards Hempnall, the site is signposted after a couple of miles or so), open 9am-4pm, Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun.
