On Tuesday 10th July, 2 males knocked on the door of a property in Metfield. They offered the elderly resident the chance to buy a mattress for £400 from them. When the resident informed the 2 males he did not have that money, they offered to take him to the bank. They did not go, but the 2 males accepted an offer of £120, brought the mattress in doors and put the residents old one in the spare room, before leaving. No receipt was given and there are suspicions about the legitimacy of this business. The following day on Wednesday 11th July, the 2 males were seen in Walsham-le-Willows trying the same sales method.
The 2 males are described as having an accent, possibly Irish, aged 40's, driving a blue Ford Transit van, there should be a magnetic logo on the side of the van with words similar to 'Slumberland' with a picture of a lady sleeping. Please remain vigilant if these males are seen and report any concerns immediately on 999. Or if you hear of anybody who has purchased from them, please contact us on 101.
