Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils have been alerted by the MET Office of heavy rain expected overnight tonight (Friday July 13). The rain is expected from 8pm until 5am tomorrow morning (July 14).
This may result in localised surface water flooding. Dependent on the amount of rain received, there are concerns about what will happen to the water once it reaches our water courses/rivers and the affect it will have. The Environment Agency will be monitoring this throughout the evening and will issue any appropriate flood warnings. These can be found on the Environment Agency website: www.environment-agency.gov.uk or on the Floodline number: 0845 988 1188.
We have produced an information leaflet with guidance on how to prepare for potential flooding and where to go for further information. Please share this with your communities, families and friends to ensure that they are also prepared.
