Starting this weekend, little Phoebe Smith, whose sixth birthday is on Friday, along with her big brother, nine year old Tom, will be riding and cycling 36 kilometres around Bedingfield to raise funds to help create a safe place for visitors to park at their local church in Redlingfield. Currently parking is on a fast country road and simply too dangerous for everyone.

Phoebe will be riding her beloved pony Lady, who at 23 years old needs to take life easy, so they will be completing their fundraising ride and cycle over three weekends.

Their first pony & cycle ride will be this weekend on Sunday 9th September. They aim to raise £1,000 (or more!).

The new parking area will be eco-friendly under-grass mesh, which is virtually invisible once the grass has grown through it.

Their ride will start out from Fleming’s Hall Farm in Bedingfield at around 2pm on Sunday.  Proceeding towards Bedingfield on Hall Road before joining the bridle path towards Orchard Farm and Bedingfield Street. From there making their way towards Rookery Farm before joining the track that leads to Bedingfield Green, past Bedingfield House and Plough Farm before returning to Fleming’s Hall Farm, passing Boxbrush Farm.

Well-wishers and supporters are very welcome to join them.

Sponsorship forms are available here and by email from the Parish meeting or call 01379 678835. An online donation webpage will be set up shortly.
