Film premiere postponed

The UK premiere of a film at the Red Feather Club in Horham on Wednesday March 20th has been postponed because of the recent rain and snow. 95th Bomb Group Heritage Association chairman James Mutton said: "The land people use to park on just won't be able to take vehicles. We've had two inches of rain and more than three inches of snow and there's more bad weather forecast. rather than wait until the last minute and turn people away on the night we've decided to postpone the film show." The 95th Bomb Group Heritage Association will now premiere "On the Wings of a Mighty Fortress", a documentary telling the story of 95th Bomb Group crew of “Easy Going”, at the Red Feather Club in Horham at a later date. Three years in the making, the film by Mark Werkema and Jim Koehn, features many interviews with crew members. The documentary is due to be screened on US TV this year.

Upcoming events at the Red Feather Club include: a quiz night on Saturday May 4th, at 7.30pm, admission is £5 per person including food, and you can contact John Kirkum (01379 384559) to book team tables; and on Saturday May 18th and Sunday May 19th, there is a 1940s Weekend with 1940s re-enactments on Sunday. Open days are on the last Sunday of every month from April to October (Sundays April 28th, May 26th, June 30th, July 29th, August 25th, September 29th & October 27th). The April and October events will include stalls and military vehicles. Sunday September 29th will include a vintage-style softball game between the 95th’s own Wallopers and the 1285th Military Police Company re-enactors’ Snowdrops who play in period dress.
